In this talk, Dr. Eric Green, director of the National Human Genome Research Institute (NHGRI), will provide an overview of groundbreaking genomics research from the early years of the Human Genome Project (HGP) to today’s efforts to tailor treatments based on patients’ genomic profiles. During his days as a researcher at NHGRI, Dr. Green had significant involvement in the completion of the HGP. With his experience at both the research bench and as the director of NHGRI, Dr. Green offers a rich perspective on past, present and future directions for genomics research.
