Lung on a Chip

Donald Ingber and his team, having seen the successful results of the lung-on-a-chip, have developed other types of “organs-on-a-chip” such as a human gut-on-a-chip, kidney-on-a-chip, and bone marrow-on-a-chip. And they’re looking into mimicking even more organs with the hope of linking them all together one day and creating a human-on-a-chip. These incredible and revolutionary devices represent new and more powerful ways to accelerate the introduction of new drugs to market, provide an alternative to animal studies, and lower research costs.
